It's no step for a stepper..

During the beginning days of starting my career there were so many things that tried to knock me down. As a result, my self esteem was low, and I began to doubt my capabilities. On one particular evening, after a tuff day at work, I called my dad for advice. I told him that it seemed like everything I did was wrong, everyone one around was mean and that I was second guessing my dream of becoming a fashion editor. He simply replied "Its no step for a stepper baby, and your a stepper." What this basically means is that what ever your passion is, you will succeed at it no matter what. We often have big dreams, but never have the self confidence to match. You must believe in yourself now and always. Know that your better than "good enough." Once we all start stepping like we should, the this dance called life will be much easier to conquer.

  1. My dad just said this to my baby as he was teaching him to climb the stairs. I love your explanation :)

  2. I've heard this a very long time, since I was young. I like you explanation. I was thinking today about all the things that have happened through the years and up to recently. Every time I would see my opportunity and seize it something would side swipe me. This has happened so many times that it does bother me anymore. I get knocked down and by now I don't even hit the floor before I'm back up. Thinking about that, I remembered this saying, it ain't nothing for a stepper like me or it ain't no step for a stepper. And suddenly I understood what it meant. My son has been having a hard time lately. His Dad (who's gone now) used to say this all the time. I felt like he should hear it. We got this. It's easy. I compared to dancing. You may miss a step but you fall right back in as if nothing ever happened. You don't stop. You don't start over. Just fall back into step and keep going. It was for both of us today. I could feel his mood improve.
